Top 8 aim to nurture Ireland’s ever growing and vibrant Street Dance and Hip Hop culture.
This event will take place across two venues in Limerick City on Culture Night, Friday, 20th September 2024.

Session 1 - Dance Limerick

Time: 8:30pm - 11pm

The first event, held in The Church, Dance limerick, hopes to showcase the rich and underground culture of neo-Irish-Afrolism which is a healthy blend of Irish, UK, West-African and American culture with dance cyphers and performances from the Static LED Show. Dance performances will be infused throughout the event in the form of a Performance Platform where the audience will see the social dance moves of Hip Hop and Break Dance, to the rhythmic body movements of Afro fusion and freestyle movements of All Styles. The Performance Platform will be going beyond Street Dance to include all the dance art forms with the following dance exchanges, K.R.U.M.P X Irish dance, Afro dance X Contemporary, Hip Hop X Ballet. This event is open to all.

Session 2 - The Rec. Room

Time: 11.30 - Close

Top 8’s event will then move to and continue in the Commercial Bar, The Record Room. Where, local and invited DJs will provide the very best in music to bring the night to a close. DJs will include Limerick based Ceese, with a collaboration from Gxrl Codes Mona Lxsa, Methembe (Saxophonist) and dj b.o.g. This event is over 18's.
